Locations are presented in the
order they first appeared in this episode. Where markedly different shots of
one location are scattered throughout the narrative, or are linked in
the narrative (i.e. roads leading to a specific destination) we have
grouped them together here for the sake of tidiness. Timings given are
based on UK DVDs with 'PAL speed up'.

"De Crecy's Garden"
ELSTREE STUDIOS BACKLOT
SHENLEY ROAD
BOREHAMWOOD
HERTFORDSHIRE WD6
(UNCONFIRMED)
In the episode:
(03m01s)
De Crecy is seen by Julia Fenwick from the
windowed back door of the 'sweet little room'. He is digging a
grave.
(44m40s) De Crecy
digs another grave, for Jeff, who is trapped in the room.
Since filming:
The Elstree backlot area is significantly changed since the 1960s,
not least due to the construction of a Tesco's superstore on 12
acres of former Elstree Studios land and there remains little that is
recognisable.
The remaining
backlot land is reportedly poisoned with asbestos due to careless
waste dumping by previous owners, and as such, while we don't
recommend visits to private sites, this is one where we suggest it
would not only be illegal, but also foolhardy.

convertible outside the Randall and
Hopkirk office.

Jeff leave the Vauxhall and enter the Randall and Hopkirk offices.
(34m10s) Rawlings
peruses the list of offices situated at the property and then goes
to the public telephone nearby.
Since filming:
The Randall and Hopkirk offices are long gone, demolished to
make way for a new development. The grass verge seen in the early
1990s photograph represents the approximate point at which the
offices stood. This too has also now gone and Jeff and Marty's
offices are now under concrete, following the building in 1996 of
a new shopping centre. |
